About

FOR RACHEL RHOADES, TO BE IS TO TELL STORIES.
As a child she drew characters and maps and made up stories to tell her sisters. Before writing her first book, she created several indie film projects with fellow aspiring artists (which can be viewed on her YouTube channel Rhoadeside Productions). Perpetually torn between wanderlust and homesickness, she lives in her childhood hometown in Montana but has also journeyed all over Europe and Japan. After ten years in the family business of law, as an intern file clerk, legal assistant, paralegal, and finally office manager, she now enjoys a more simple career as a manager at her local used bookstore. Filmmaking is still a lifelong love. But after completing her first mystery novel, she’s hooked, and is pursuing a long-term career as an author.

There is no Frigate like a Book
To take us Lands away
Nor any Coursers like a Page
Of prancing Poetry –
This Traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of Toll –
How frugal is the Chariot
That bears the Human Soul –
